Lassi is one of the biggest tourists resorts on Kefalonia and lies just a few kilometres north of the capital town of Argostoli.
The resort of Lassi is strung out along the main coast road for about a kilometre and packed along the long straight road are many tavernas, bars, souvenir shops, mini-markets and car hire outlets.
There are more than 20 tavernas, many decked out in kitsch architecture and a similar number of music bars and even a nightclub for the youngsters.
The two main beach strips are at Platys Gialos and Makrys Gialos, both very sandy and both very busy with shallow water that is ideal for families with children. Platys Yialos has a cantina, sunbeds, showers and changing rooms as well as a good shaded car park.
There are also another two good beaches in front of the main Lassi hotels called the Mediterranee and White Rocks Hotel.
The beach near the White Rocks is a public beach called Torkopothiro and access is through the hotel grounds. The beach that lies in front of the Mediterranee Hotel is also public although access again is through the hotel grounds.
Apart from the large hotels, the accommodation in Lassi is mostly small apartments built in the woods in the area between the main road and the beaches.
There is a bus service in the summer but most visitors will use taxis or car hire, although it is only a 20-minute walk to Argostoli.
