This is one of two beaches on Lefkas with the name Milos and not to be confused with the north coast windsurfing centre at Milos Beach Resort near Agios Ioannis north of Lefkas Town
This Milos is a long and deep stretch of sand located on the more remote north-west coast and to the south of the beach resort at Agios Nikitas.
It is one of a trio of coarse sand and pebble beaches that lie along this part of the coastline, with the beaches at Agios Nikitas and Kathisma, making up the three.
Access is by following a dirt track along the coast from Agios Nikitas. The walk is not easy as there are slippery rocks and some steep inclines to negotiate so it's not for visitors with walking difficulties.
An alternative to the 20-minute clifftop walk is a daily taxi boat that ferries visitors to Milos and other beaches from Agios Nikitas during the summer season.
A stone windmill, dating from 1741, and now converted to a café and bar has impressive views over Milos Beach and the bay and there are wooden steps down to the sands.
The beach is mostly coarse sand and pebbles and there is a steep slope into the sea so children should be watched.
There is no natural shade except the morning shadow of the cliff face. Milos is a remote and relaxed beach away from the crowds and there are some caves to explore to the south.
