Therma Kalithea Rhodes Map And Beach Guide

Therma Kalithea is located on the east coast of Rhodes and about seven kilometres from Rhodes City.

The glamorous health spa is a favourite with photographers with splendid lido baths in pink and white marble built in the Moorish style and overlooking the beach

The baths were built around the 1930s when Italians were in occupation and is a warren of pavilions, circular courtyards and intricate mosaics

The springs here were noted for their health properties as long ago as the 7th century BC. The Therma Kalithea spa baths were left in ruins for many years until they were recently renovated, although they are no longer open for bathing.

The spa is set in an attractive bay overlooking the small beach where there are sheltered coves on either side noted for their unusual sculpted rocks.

A favourite with day trippers it soon gets crowded in the high season. There are sunbeds in each of the beach coves and the main beach has a summer cantina.

The sea is deep along the shoreline and there are strong currents so it's not a great beach for families. A diving school offers an underwater exploration of local caves.

Therma Kalithea is well signposted on and it has a large car park. Visitors can follow seaside paths to more sandy coves hidden along the coastline to the south.
